Professor Stricker is the first in New South Wales and the third in Australia to achieve this milestone. He began the first robotic programme in New South Wales at St Vincent’s Private in 2006 and has performed almost half of all the cases at St Vincent’s campus.
He has also mentored and taught many of Australia’s robotic surgeons. Many of his publications on robotic surgery are highly cited internationally. He continues to work on improving techniques for improving the outcomes, especially potency and continence. His other research in this area is in more accurate detection of the extent of prostate cancer during prostate cancer surgery using radiolabelled markers. He has paid tribute to the outstanding team of nurses, assistants and anaesthetists at St Vincent’s emphasising how critical they have been to the success of the programme at St Vincent’s.
